I don't know about you but it saddens me how everything you buy nowadays is made somewhere on the other side of the planet, don't get me wrong I haven’t got a problem with other countries manufacturing but I just think it would be nice if we produced more ourselves, it’s down to cost I understand that but I don't think I'm alone when I think I’d prefer to pay a bit more for something that's Made in GB.
So this got me thinking, could I live my normal(ish) everyday life only buying and using products Made in Great Britain. OK I'm not going to go out and buy a brand new car etc but in principle I could do this.
I started digging around and documented my findings on this site, take a good look around and I think you will be surprised to find what we still produce on this tiny island known as Great Britain. For example, did you know that some of the classic Dr Martens boots are still manufactured in Wollaston, Northamptonshire?
The more we support our own manufacturers the better it is for our economy and our people, now go Buy British and make our Great Britain even Greater!
